Gosh I should stop listening to Nov's Chopin or I might get sick of it! Hope I don't! (: Today I shall post about music and about yesterday's choral night!
Yesterday went to school and rehearsed chinese then skipped then bathed then went out to Coro with jingwei huiwei and yeexingyi and I ate the pork chop things with rice which was SUPPOSED to be black pepper, but tasted like salty sauce. Jingwei ordered a 'hhyam and chhnneeese sannndweech' in her nasal voice and it came LAST. See, this is why you should not talk through your nasal cavity. Then went to Choral Nite. I love the pre-preformance fundraising where everyone is selling stuff and there's lots of socialising to be done and people are so buzzed and the like (((: Tried something from all the stalls and the marshmallow thing wasn't bad, though it looked pretty gross and the strawberry one was a bit unusual, but not a BADBAD unusual kind of way, probably what some people would call an acquired taste. haha. The fried food stall by 102 was bad at the interval, though I can't make any comparisons to the pre-performance standard because I was so full before that I didn't want to buy anything. The fries were limp strips of turnip cos they weren't cooked properly and they were SEEPED IN OIL and tasted like NUGGETS. Apparently, they didn't have time to change the oil. CARCINOGEN ALERT! Would pass off as a decent generic nugget-flavoured vegetarian food item, not masquarading as our beloved Fried Spud. Anyway, the performances were so-so only, and I managed to make Gary Tang angry by throwing a lightstick onto the stage (from the second level! no mean feat!) but he thought it was a modern dancer. Relieved but Remorseful (: NEEEEEH. Sorry la modern dance, I have tarnished your pristine image. I'm not going to suan modern dance anymore by saying that all they do is roll on the floor! They don't JUST roll on the floor! Don't you see the depth and emotion in their choreography? Repeating the same movement means they're EMPHASISING it.
No offence to modern dancers, esp hu zhe (((:
Okay, now on to musicmusicmusic! In the last couple of days, I HAVE PURCHASED 2 CDS.
1. Robbie Williams' Intensive Care (Lobbie Wirriams.)
2. Jay Chou's November's Chopin!
Honestly, after his split from Guy, I think Lobbie's music is going down the toilet. The ONLY decent songs in there are probably Make Me Pure, Advertising Space and that other rock and roll song. Lobbie, you disappoint me! I loved Escapology the most, cos it was the freshest I thought, and so much more edgy! This one is FILLED with songs that all sound the same. Robbie's done a Westlife. Or maybe worse, cos Westlife have some nice songs and their voices are easier on the earearears. See, the thing about Robbie isn't his voice, but the songs, and if he don't sing no good song, his voice be GRATING. He's singing the same Rehashed Trash from Stephen Duffy's extremely limited songwriting/composing talent and it doesn't sound good at ALL. Have wasted enough space on this album. haha. Don't even go near it or it'll spoil your taste! It pales so much in comparison with his previous albums it's anaemic, so stay away!
HOWEVER, Wanakin Jaywalker has saved this Earth from complete and utter damnation with November's Chopin! It's a really greatttt album, and although I'm not a big fan of chinese music, I think he composes fantastic. Got a very Ahbeng poster of him in a (gasp -.-) leopard-print suit and anyone who wants it can have it. Like almost all the songs woohoo (:
Tomorrow will be a busy day! Am going for training in the morning and then Choral Night practice and then buy roses and then sell them and then watch choral nite! yay.
